Webinar Recap: Using ESSER Funding for Construction Projects

At ICS, improving our clients’ facilities is at the core of what we do. With the passing of President Biden’s American Rescue Plan (also known as ESSER III), the federal government appropriated over $100 billion to help schools address their immediate facilities’ needs as children transition back to in-person learning.

However, there was some confusion about these ESSER funds, and we were often asked “What can we use the money for?” and “How does the process of getting our spending approved by the Local Education Authorities (LEA) and State Education Authorities (SEA) work?”

To help answer these questions, ICS created the “Ready, Set, Relief” webinar series where we broke down the process of applying for the ESSER funding, outlined exactly what it could be used for, demonstrated how to gain spending approval from LEAs and SEAs, and explained how school districts should be communicating the spending to their communities.

These webinars were a huge success! We were able to bring in some big-name speakers to share their wealth of knowledge on the federal funding process including U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar (Rep. MN), U.S. Congresswoman Angie Craig (Rep. MN – District 2), Blake Androff (Executive Vice President, Signal Group), Todd Rapp (CEO, Rapp Strategies), as well as numerous speakers from the ICS family. Additionally, we were able to bring in over 250+ participants between our webinars on March 17th and May 19th.  See below for a breakdown of what amount from these webinars!

If you had to miss these webinars or would like a refresher on the content, we’ve added all the webinar recordings and slide desks to our Ready, Set, Relief – ESSER Funding webpage.
