Duluth Public Schools District Service Center and Transportation Building

Duluth Public Schools Project Details:

To help increase overall efficiency, Duluth Public Schools gained funding approval through the State of Minnesota’s bonding bill to fund the relocation of existing programs and services from the existing Historic Old Central High School (HOCHS) to a new facility located on the district-owned Central High School site on the Duluth hillside.

This new facility serves two primary functions – 1) the District Service Center (DSC) and 2) Transportation Building. The District Service Center is approximately 29,000 square feet and features an open and collaborative environment with functions for programming, facilities, human resources, and IT with additional shared workspaces and meeting rooms.

The Transportation Building is approximately 30,000 square feet and includes a 32-bay bus storage area, a 5,500-square-foot wash and maintenance area, and a 4,500-square-foot administrative area that includes a conference room, reception area, break room, training room, offices, a shower room and lockers, and storage.

ICS provided planning and project development, program management, and construction management services for this exciting addition to Duluth Public Schools.
