Northland Learning Center Project Details:
Northland Learning Center (NLC), a special education cooperative serving eight member districts across northeastern Minnesota, recently opened a new 32,000-square-foot facility in Mountain Iron. Designed to support students’ unique needs, the new school is home to special education programming, Alternative Learning Center (ALC), True North Setting IV services, and Innovation North transition programming for students through age 22.
The facility offers safe, accessible, and flexible learning spaces that support students at every stage of their educational journey, helping foster growth, independence, and meaningful community connections.
Made possible through strong regional partnerships, including support from the Iron Range Resources & Rehabilitation Board (IRRRB) and NLC’s member school districts, the $17 million project represents a continued commitment to providing high-quality educational opportunities for students across northeastern Minnesota.
