Anoka County Juvenile Facility Secure Pod Renovation

Anoka County Juvenile Facility Secure Pod Renovation Project Details:

ICS delivered comprehensive Construction Management services for the Anoka County Juvenile Facility Secure Pod Conversion project. Working in close partnership with Anoka County Facilities Management & Construction team and Wold Architects and Engineers, ICS guided the transformation of three outdated, open-cell housing pods into secure, modern detention units, which support the county’s goals for improved safety, efficiency, and long-term facility performance.

The renovation required careful coordination within an active correctional environment and included selective demolition and reconstruction to accommodate new infrastructure and building systems. Each pod was rebuilt with full-height concrete masonry unit walls, detention-grade doors and hardware, individual in-cell restroom units, and new detention-grade furnishings. Mechanical, electrical, fire protection, and life-safety systems were upgraded to meet current codes and enhance reliability and durability.

Through disciplined planning, cost control, and on-site leadership, ICS helped deliver a secure, high-performing housing environment while maintaining ongoing critical facility operations. The completed project significantly improved staff and resident safety, increased operational flexibility, and extended the useful life of this critical county facility.
