Xcel Energy Chestnut Street Service Center Redevelopment Project Details:
ICS partnered with Xcel Energy as an Owner’s Representative to transform the Chestnut Service Center into a modern, high-performance operations hub that supports reliable energy delivery across the region. This redevelopment played a critical role in strengthening infrastructure that serves thousands of customers, while also enhancing safety, efficiency, and long-term resiliency for field operations.
The project included full site demolition, new construction, and targeted renovation to deliver a multi-story service center, structured parking, and upgraded annex building facilities. With significant infrastructure upgrades and active operations surrounding the site, the work demanded a highly coordinated, phased approach to keep crews moving and services uninterrupted.
As an extension of Xcel Energy’s team, ICS provided end-to-end project oversight from pre-construction through closeout, guiding cost, schedule, and decision-making at every stage. Through close collaboration with the owner, design team, and contractors, ICS helped drive project goal alignment, accountability, and forward momentum in a complex project environment.
The result is more than a new facility; it’s an investment in the future of the community. By modernizing this critical service center, Xcel Energy is better equipped to support its workforce, improve response times, and deliver safe, reliable energy to the customers and communities it serves.
